Primary Care Trust First Aid Course

The Primary Care Trust stipulates that every 2 hour PCT course covers Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, plus the recognition & treatment for Anaphylaxis including Epipen & Anapen administration.

However, we prefer to include Paediatric Basic Life Support plus recognition and treatment of a choking adult and paediatric casualty.

We shall also explain & demonstrate the Recovery Position on a volunteer.  The group will not be required to physically practice the Recovery Position during course time, but shall be encouraged to practice more comfortably in their own time.

We supply 1 CPR mannequin per delegate.  The mannequins being Laerdal adult, child and baby “Annies”, wipes are used for the individual cleaning of each mannequin with their disposable airways being replaced on a very regular basis.  Emphasis is placed on safe First Aid, preventing cross-infection, including the use of resuscitation aids to prevent any such health risks.

The HSE do not govern this 1 day course, hence there is no set maximum number of delegates.  We set a maximum of 16 delegates.  This is a reasonable number of people to supervise with each working on their own mannequin.

Delegates receive

A4 and laminated wallet sized certificates
